DRAFT · OCTOBER 2026

Here’s what Currents collects, why, and who sees it. This is a working draft for the pilot and will be reviewed before launch.

What we collect

  • The phone number or email your invite was sent to, used to sign you in
  • Your profile: first name, birthday, gender, photos, traits, prompts and city
  • Your cards, the notes you send and get, and your chats
  • Device details needed for push notifications

Who sees what

  • Your card shows your plan, first name and age, never your birthday.
  • Flipping a card shows your photos, gender, city, traits and a prompt.
  • Chats are only between the two of you. Our team reads a chat only when it’s reported.
  • If you are in a plan group, its members and anyone invited to it can see your full profile (photos, first name, age, gender, city, traits and prompts) and what you write in the group. Contact details are never shown. Your 1-1 chats stay private.
  • If you report someone in a plan group, the host sees your name, the reason and anything you add. The person you report isn’t told it was you.
  • Notifications show names, never what someone wrote.

How we use it

  • To show you cards from people in your city
  • To run safety checks on cards and notes, including with AI
  • To send the notifications you’ve turned on

We don’t sell your data or show ads.

How long we keep it

Deleting a chat, or leaving a plan group and deleting it, removes it from your side. Deleting your account removes your profile, card, notes and chats. We keep reports and safety records for as long as we need them to keep people safe.

Your controls
